The Turtle Top which is inspired by the shell of the box turtle, prevents downward pressure to the horse’s tongue encouraging the horse to accept the bit and take the contact forward. The Turtle Top link is also flattened to lower pallet pressure and restricts the movement in mouthpiece, keeping it still and steady in the horse’s mouth.

New favourite! Encourages soft & steady contact
I knew this bit had a bit of a cult following, and now I can see why. Tried it on my two OTTBs and both love it.. One was already very soft, stepped up to this from a Trust snaffle. He went in the TT even better with a bit more nuance in the control. The other had tended to suck back from contact, but this bit encouraged him to reach forward into it - i found a big forward-going trot I didn't even know we had! Highly recommend this bit, I have also invested in the Universal version for jumping.

Absolutely delighted in how this bit had helped my fussy mouth boy ! He had always played with his bit despite the many we have tried! He is now quite steady in the contact and a delight to ride !

Never Schule Turtle top eggbutt
I appreciate the expertise of my bit fitter. The bit level in my horse's mouth is critical because of the small space available beside my gelding's tushes. He had a dry mouth and the metal and bit comfort allows him to be comfortable and salivate easily. The softness of the bit compensates for my sometimes unsteady hands. On a trail ride he now no longer snatches at the bit due too the bit hitting his teeth and he is readily seeking better contact to give him a rounded outline.

Amazing bit, solved fussy mouth
I love this bit. It solved my horses fussy mouth and she is very responsive to this bit. I have not had a Neue Schule bit before and was a bit hesitant but so super impressed. This bit is worth every cent. Bit Bank were so lovely to deal with, very friendly and answered my many questions before I was advised to purchase the turtle top. I will most definitely deal with them again. I purchased from New Zealand and it was a smooth process from start to finish. Received my bit in next to no time.
