Collection: Neue Schule

Many decades of insight into understanding the important dynamics and drivers of communication between horse and rider have driven the design of our amazing bits.

This knowledge and passion is deeply embedded in Neue Schule and has evolved to the point where the product design and development process is a refined art.

It is vital that in developing the products we are able to translate this insight and artistic interpretation into beautifully engineered bits that accurately capture the design intent.

Neue Schule deploys state of the art engineering techniques to capture this design and from a computer system translates this into a manufactured bit, capable of delivering the performance that our customers demand.

Salox Gold – Sound Science – Good Sense
Engineering Metal for the Mouth – A Warm and Soft Environment

Metals are the first choice for modern horse bits. They have the basic strength to meet the demands of a powerful sport and recreation such as riding and can be formed into an infinite range of precisely defined shapes.

But other than these basic requirements what other properties would the perfect metal possess?

This metal alloy is unique to Neue Schule and was scientifically developed specifically for use as a horse bit to encourage relaxed acceptance of the bit. Salox Gold possesses three special qualities:

  1. It reaches mouth temperature quickly.
  2. It is comparatively soft and therefore kinder to tooth enamel.
  3. It has low bioactivity and doesn’t leech ions and therefore doesn’t smell or taste.

All of these advantages help to promote a relaxed acceptance and a quiet mouth, helping the horse to concentrate on the aids.
