Neue Schule Turtle Top Eggbutt 7023E

I knew this bit had a bit of a cult following, and now I can see why. Tried it on my two OTTBs and both love it.. One was already very soft, stepped up to this from a Trust snaffle. He went in the TT even better with a bit more nuance in the control. The other had tended to suck back from contact, but this bit encouraged him to reach forward into it - i found a big forward-going trot I didn't even know we had! Highly recommend this bit, I have also invested in the Universal version for jumping.

Absolutely delighted in how this bit had helped my fussy mouth boy ! He had always played with his bit despite the many we have tried! He is now quite steady in the contact and a delight to ride !

This bit has totally made a difference with my Stb, I was riding him for 3 months before changing over & straight away I could notice some changes but by the 5th ride I could definitely say it's made a huge difference. Get a bit fit & allow your horse to enjoy the ride more too

There is a noticeable improvement in my daughter being able to maintain a more consistent connection with her horse since using this bit. Her horse is softer and more willing to accept the contact.

I appreciate the expertise of my bit fitter. The bit level in my horse's mouth is critical because of the small space available beside my gelding's tushes. He had a dry mouth and the metal and bit comfort allows him to be comfortable and salivate easily. The softness of the bit compensates for my sometimes unsteady hands. On a trail ride he now no longer snatches at the bit due too the bit hitting his teeth and he is readily seeking better contact to give him a rounded outline.

I love this bit. It solved my horses fussy mouth and she is very responsive to this bit.
I have not had a Neue Schule bit before and was a bit hesitant but so super impressed. This bit is worth every cent.

My 3.5 yr old X Gypsy Cob was finding it hard to get a consistent trot in an ordinary Eggbutt snaffle. Head tossing, lack of contact and trying to keep hands still was not pretty. Fiona Dearing did a professional bit fitting and after about 5 bits the N.S Turtle Top Eggbutt seemed to be the winner Joe seemed to be more relaxed straight away. I have been riding in this bit for some weeks now and his head tossing is so much better and getting less enabling me to have steadier hands and his trot has been improving each ride. We actually get a few strides with good contact and consistent rhythm. We can only get better as he really seems more content working in this bit so I would highly recommend the N.S Turtle Top Eggbutt be considered for a young horse as it has certainly worked for us. Yes it is more expensive than the average bits we all have lying around but the cost has been so worth it having a horse that is comfortable in the mouth priceless.

This product has been transforming! Thank you! From the first ride: pretty much stopped gagging, no head toss, way more happy in the bridle, the bit is so much steadier and less distracting for my horse.

I have been using the loose ring turtle top on my sensitive, large tongued gelding for approx 1 year, which he was responding to the best out of the many bits I have tried! However, he wasn't as steady as he could be in the bridle and was getting little rub marks occasionally at the corner of his mouth, so Bit Bank suggested the eggbutt turtle top for the stability in his mouth. He has responded very well and is always very willing to try his best in this bit. No more rubs. He doesn't toss his head or wrench the reins and can keep a steady contact for longer with the eggbutt turtle top. He does get quite strong on a trail ride when cantering (which he has done with any other bit) so that would be the only time I might swap it out for my NS verbindend or buy the universal turtle top as also suggested by Bit Bank. Very happy with this bit and would highly recommend.

After trying multiple bits for a heavy strong clydie cross we decided to try a bit with less “stopping power” (elevators, Perham’s, combinations) and this bit gives us exactly what we needed; horse that stopped fighting, listened more and was happier. We also like the loose ring but decided that this was better due to sometime unsteady hands. Now we have a happy horse and a happy rider.

Everyone needs one of these bits in their tack room. Gentle without being ineffective, every horse I’ve ridden in this bit has been accepting and eager to reach for the contact. The eggbutt style is fantastic for youngsters who need more supported steering. NS bits are fantastic quality and well worth the price tag. Outstanding bit! My young horse had a very busy mouth prior to trying this bit. We have now had two rides in this bit and he is so quiet and willing to work on a contact. I can’t get over how quietly he carries this bit!

On Bitbank's advice I bought this for my 3.5 yr old gelding, who I had been riding in a loose ring bit. He had been moving his head around a fair bit. Charmae suggested I go with a fixed cheek Turtle Top to provide more stability and clarity for my horse. The fixed cheek keeps things stiller in the mouth, provides an instant release (compared to a loose ring which moves), and the Turtle Top also can't be pushed up in the mouth. After switching to the new bit my horse is definitely much more stable with his head and his turns have also improved, probably because he is getting a clearer signal. I'm really happy with the help and advice I got from Bitbank. And of course the NS bit is beautifully made and well designed so I am very happy with that too.

Have used the Neue Schule Turtle top Eggbutt, on a sensitive , responsive , green broken 4.5 yr old Warmblood.
He has been more consistent and confident in the contact. Happy to take the contact and travel forward, round and down. Lifting through the shoulder and back. He doesn’t feel blocked by pressure on his tongue. He feels more secure with the fixed ring and is swinging beautifully behind. My coach noticed a positive difference as well. Super happy with the kindness of the bit and the confidence it gives the horse.
The girls had the product sent to me within the week.

Very happy with my Turtle Top, Bit Bank was very helpful when I was unsure of the sizing. My bit fits perfectly. My horse likes it, gently chewing on it, which keeps his mouth soft. I had a bit fitter look at his mouth, and this is the type of bit she recommended for my horse.

My thoroughbred mare is very sensitive and does not like any contact on her mouth. I’ve tried 4 other bits. She is much happier in this bit and is not throwing her head anywhere near as much and no longer sucking behind the bit. I’m very pleased with it.

This bit has done everything it promised. My horse’s mouth is sensitive and he was playing with the bit, not consistent on the contact, fussing, sticking tongue out and sometimes trying to get his tongue over the bit. After working in the turtle top for a few weeks his mouth has really settled down and is now taking a soft & consistent contact. No more sticking the tongue out or over. He loves this bit, therefore I love this bit!!

I have a young standy that plays constantly with his bit , tries to put his tongue over the bit etc.
With his new bit he was more relaxed through his poll,more responsive to the rein aids ,very happy with it .

Thank you very much for your phone support. My young horse is very happy now and finally seeking a contact, he's improved in leaps and bounds since the turtle top arrived. He has been happy since starting in a single jointed blue bomber bit .. until his canines erupted and then we quickly needed something else! Finding a happy solution has been a bit tricky as he's 17hh but only needs a 5" bit and this bit was accepted immediately. I toook out the bit insurance just in case but happily didn't need to use it. Many thanks again :)

He has only had 3 rides in it but already he is coming in to contact a lot easier and working really nicely. Thanks to Charmae for all the emails back and forth.
